10 October, 2015
UNLOC doctoral student Sezer Erkilinç, who is a member of the Optical Networks Group at the Electronic & Electrical Engineering Department in UCL received a 2015 IEEE Graduate Student Fellowship awarded each year by the IEEE Photonics Society. Established to recognise and support outstanding student members pursuing graduate education within any of the Society field of interest, the fellowship is awarded to only 10 students selected from a large pool of nominees.
Sezer Erkilinç joined the Optical Networks Group as a PhD student in 2011, after completing a MSc sponsored by Hewlett-Packard at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Rochester, NY, USA. He joined the UNLOC project from the start and has since worked on cost-effective optical transceiver architectures for access and metropolitan applications under the supervision of Robert Killey and Polina Bayvel.
