UNLOC heads to ECOC 2016, Dusseldorf

17 August, 2016

From 18-22 September, members of the UNLOC programme will decamp to the 42nd annual European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication (ECOC 2016).

This year, researchers from UNLOC will present their work in multiple sessions and workshops.

UNLOC Deputy Director, Sergei Turitsyn, co-chairs the CLEO (Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics) Focus Meeting 20-21 September as well as chairing the CLEO Spatial Temporal Control session. UNLOC researchers are also involved in the organisation of two of the six workshops in the main conference programme. UNLOC co-investigator, Benn Thomsen, will chair the Digital Signal Processing session of the conference on Tuesday 20 September.

This well-established conference will provide another milestone in scientific and technical progress on materials, devices, and systems for applications in photonic networks, the basic technology for today’s and the future world-wide Internet.

From student to expert level, from academia to industry, ECOC’s special tutorials, invited and contributed papers will analyse the impact and role of photonic technologies in present and future core, metro and converged access networks.
